Gidinawendimin – We Are All Related 2022

Be a part of the 2022 Truth and Reconciliation Week inaugural live program!

Teachers and students, join us virtually or in-person for Truth and Reconciliation Week’s first-ever live stage program – “Gidinawendimin – We Are All Related” at the Paramount Fine Foods Centre in Mississauga, ON on September 29, 2022.

Featuring some of Turtle Island’s best performers, journey with us across the country as we learn about Indigenous culture, languages, and traditions and hear the truth about the history of residential schools from Survivors, Indigenous performers, activists, and Knowledge Keepers. Most of all, we will be remembering the children that did not come home from residential schools.

For educators across the country: This program will be streamed for those who cannot attend in person. Register to participate in the Truth and Reconciliation Week 2022 program for students in grades 1-12. If you are already registered for Truth and Reconciliation Week, you are registered for the stream on September 29th, 2022.

For general public: We invite the general public to tune into Gidinawendimin – We Are All Related via Facebook Live. The event will stream from our Facebook page. For more information, follow our Facebook event and don’t miss an update.

NCTR’s spirit name – bezhig miigwan, meaning “one feather”.

Bezhig miigwan calls upon us to see each Survivor coming to the NCTR as a single eagle feather and to show those Survivors the same respect and attention an eagle feather deserves. It also teaches we are all in this together — we are all one, connected, and it is vital to work together to achieve reconciliation.
